Laura is at home and trying to enjoy the easy life. I think she might be getting a bit bored, but she is doing well. She didn’t need any of the little items we borrowed to help her out around the house. I had gotten her a walker, and shower stool and a thing that makes the toilet higher, but she has been getting by without them fine. She is still moving a bit slow, but it is improving.
Mornings at 8 and afternoons at 4:30 are spent at the Wellness Center next to the hospital. Laura gets her Maxipime via IV. The rest of the time is spent at home. As she gets stronger, we will take some walks through HEB or similar to get her some exercise and a change of surroundings. She has a few appointments next week for the several doctors that were caring for her, and also a family doctor visit as well. One 8/4 is when we visit the Urologist, so we will find out more about how to take care of the kidney stones. Which is the next step after she is recovered.
As for me, yesterday was the first day back it work. I must say it felt good to be back at work. I have a little bit of catching up to do, which I will probably finish up today, then I have several projects I need to timeline out and get to work on.

Laura had her first visit to the wellness center today for her anti-biotic via IV. She will be going in at 8 and 5 for that until Friday.
Once we got home today, we settled in for a quick nap, then got up to head to the wellness center. Next up is groceries and dinner, the relax and sleep. Art will be taking Laura to her morning infusion, and I’ll take her to the afternoon infusions.

Now we wait until the case worker starts on Laura’s release again. We are looking forward to taking a nap together later today.

We have to wait until 9 for her last inpatient anti-biotic, then we can go home. She’ll need to come up here twice a day for anti-biotics.

Laura had a fairly good night. She was up a lot to go to the bathroom, but seemed to sleep well in between. She had a very good looking breakfast today, Eggs, fruit, bagle, rice krispies and a cup of coffee.
About 7:45, Gloria a nursing instructor from STC showed up to sit with her awhile. I am back at home, going to wake up, have some coffee, clean house a little, then go to the church for todays service.
Why clean house? Well Dr Ayala the primary came in this morning and said all he is waiting on is information from the Infectious Disease doctor, we need to find out about her anti-biotics. If we need to continue the IV or if she can take it orally. He said he would like to release her TODAY! so that is great news! I need to head up to Walgreens or similar and get a few things for Laura to use around the house during her recovery, get her some clothes and bring her home. That is why I am going to clean up just a bit this morning, get her bed ready, make sure the kitchen is ready for me to cook her fantastic meals. Get her laptop ready for her catching up on emails and such.
Thanks everyone for their prayers and thank God for his grace, mercy and healing hand. Laura and I will continue to learn from this experience and I hope others have been touched by it as well.
